Notice of Proposed Rate Increase

January 16, 2026

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Kennebunk Light & Power District (“KLPD” or the “District”) will file a request with the Maine Public Utilities Commission (“Commission”) seeking approval to increase its delivery rate for electric service.

A public hearing on this matter will be held as follows:

    Date: Wednesday, February 18, 2026

    Time: 5:00 p.m.

Location: KLPD’s office, 4 Factory Pasture Lane, Kennebunk, Maine

At this hearing, customers will have the opportunity to provide testimony, comments, and ask questions about the proposed rate change. On or before January 16, 2026, KLPD will post materials supporting the proposed rate increase on KLPD’s website (www.klpd.org) and make such materials available at the District’s office.

Subject to Commission approval, the delivery rate is proposed to increase from $0.033543/kWh to $0.046487/kWh effective April 1, 2026, an increase of $2,108,396 annually (14.32% of the 2024 operating revenues, or 38.59% of the revenue from existing delivery rates). The proposed increase is necessary to recover the costs of operating and maintaining the electric system in 2026 and to fund capital investments required to support customer growth and maintain system reliability.

The percentage changes and the average monthly bill increase for each customer class are shown in the following table:

 Total Bill - Effective 04/2026

Residential Commercial Industrial
$9.19 $38.91 $1,530.95
